Aircraft Cover Fitment Guide & FAQ
Mcovers currently focuses on general aviation wing and tail covers for selected Cessna and Piper aircraft.
Our covers are designed for aircraft parked outdoors and help protect covered wing and tail surfaces from frost, snow, rain, UV exposure, dust, and general weather exposure.
Because many aircraft may have modifications, STCs, aftermarket wing tips, antennas, vortex generators, or different equipment configurations, we recommend checking your aircraft model and wing measurement before placing an order.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which aircraft models do Mcovers wing and tail covers currently fit?
Mcovers currently offers wing and tail covers for selected Cessna and Piper aircraft, including:
- Cessna 150
- Cessna 172
- Piper Cherokee 140 / 160 / 180
If your aircraft model is not listed on this page, we currently cannot provide a cover for that model.
Are Mcovers wing and tail covers waterproof?
Mcovers wing and tail covers are designed to be weather-resistant, not fully waterproof.
They are made to help protect covered aircraft surfaces from normal outdoor parking conditions, including rain, snow, frost, UV exposure, dust, and general weather exposure.
They are not designed for flooding, standing water, extreme storms, hurricanes, or long-term exposure to severe weather conditions.
What material are Mcovers wing and tail covers made from?
Mcovers wing and tail covers are made from 600D polyester fabric, designed for outdoor aircraft parking protection.
The material is selected to balance weather resistance, durability, weight, and ease of storage.
Will the covers scratch my aircraft paint or surface?
Mcovers covers are designed to reduce rubbing when properly installed on a clean aircraft surface.
Before installation, we recommend making sure the aircraft surface is clean and free from dust, sand, grit, or debris.
The fit and straps should also be properly secured. Loose covers or loose straps may move in windy conditions, which could cause rubbing or chafing.
Improper installation, loose fastening, dirty aircraft surfaces, or severe wind conditions may increase the risk of rubbing.
Are Mcovers wing and tail covers lined?
The wing covers include a soft inner lining to help reduce rubbing against the aircraft surface.
The tail covers are not fully lined in the same way as the wing covers. This helps reduce weight and makes the covers easier to fold, handle, and store. Soft contact areas are included where needed.
Can the covers be used in windy conditions?
The covers should always be properly installed and secured before use. Straps must be tightened correctly to reduce movement in windy conditions.
Loose covers or loose straps may move, flap, rub, or cause chafing.
In strong wind, storm, or severe weather conditions, we recommend inspecting the covers regularly and using caution.
Do the covers protect against hail?
Mcovers wing and tail covers are designed for normal outdoor parking protection against general weather exposure, including frost, snow, rain, UV exposure, and dust.
They are not guaranteed to prevent damage from severe hail, extreme storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, improper installation, or unusual weather events.
Does the cover set come with a storage bag?
Yes. Each Mcovers wing and tail cover set includes a lightweight weather-resistant storage bag.
For long-term storage, we recommend allowing the covers to air dry before placing them into the storage bag. Avoid storing the covers wet for an extended period of time.
How should I store the covers after use?
After removing the covers, shake off loose snow, water, dust, or debris.
If the covers are wet, allow them to air dry before long-term storage.
Once dry, fold the covers and place them into the included storage bag. Store the bag in a clean, dry area when not in use.
How do I clean and care for the covers?
For regular cleaning, wipe or gently hand wash the covers with clean water and mild soap if needed. Use a soft cloth, sponge, or soft brush.
Do not use bleach, strong detergents, harsh chemicals, dry cleaning, or tumble drying.
Machine washing is not recommended, as it may damage the fabric, coating, stitching, straps, or hardware.
Always air dry the covers completely before long-term storage.
What color options are available?
Current color availability is Blue only.
Custom colors are not currently available because fabric color differences may occur between production batches.
More color options are not available at this stage.
Can I add my tail number, registration number, or logo?
Personalization is not currently offered for Mcovers wing and tail cover sets.

If the product is available in stock, it can usually be shipped without production delay.
If fitment confirmation is needed before shipping, the order may be delayed until the fitment details are confirmed.

What measurements or photos should I send before ordering?
If you are unsure about fitment, please send the wing root-to-wingtip measurement.
For modified aircraft, photos are also helpful. Please include photos of the wings, wing tips, tail section, and any STC modification, antenna, vortex generator, or aftermarket equipment that may affect cover fitment.
Do I need to send an old cover for pattern making?
No. At this stage, customers do not need to send old covers for pattern making.
Mcovers currently offers covers only for the aircraft models listed in this Fitment Guide.
Are installed or test-fitted covers returnable?
Installed or test-fitted covers may be considered for return if they remain clean, dry, undamaged, complete, and suitable for resale after inspection.
Return requests must be made within 14 days of delivery and approved by Mcovers before the item is sent back. Accepted non-quality-related returns are subject to a 30% restocking fee, and the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
For full details, please review our Shipping & Returns page.
Are there size tolerances because the covers are handmade?
Yes. Mcovers wing and tail covers are manually cut and assembled, so small size variations may occur during production.
A normal size tolerance of approximately ±3 cm / ±1.2 in may apply. This is considered a normal handmade production tolerance and does not usually affect fitment when the cover is used on the correct aircraft model and properly installed.
